PHILOSOPHY
We're not your typical wholesaler.
We don't have branches, twigs, or satellites. Each WinWholesale
location is a corporation; independent, with its own set
of stockholders, officers and directors. Each local company's president
holds the responsibility and authority to make the management, purchasing
and personnel decisions, decisions that must be made at the local level
for maximum efficiency. Only the local company's board of directors limits
this authority.
This philosophy works because we're confident the president
will make good management decisions. Why? First, the president
is a major stockholder in his or her own company. This assures
that management and shareholder needs remain balanced. Second, the Win companies have
over 40 years of wholesaling experience. They follow a system
of "pattern
management" that helps ensure success. Local market conditions. Local decision-making. National support.
It's a Winning combination. What is pattern management? How does it help ensure our companies'
success? With over 40 years of experience in wholesaling, we've made
many good decisions and our fair share of not-so-good decisions.
These experiences have led us to take the knowledge and techniques
the company has collectively learned and compile a set of procedures,
which we call the procedure manual. Since each company approaches its operations in a similar
way based on these patterns, realistic and meaningful comparisons
of the results can be made. We use management ratios to rank
and rate each company's performance. The result is sound business
decisions. Most of our presidents learn to use the ratios through
participation in our training programs, which we hold on the
local, regional and national levels.
Training Programs WinWholesale
companies offer a variety of training programs. Most of our
company presidents started their careers as Manager Trainees.
These people are willing to learn by doing, taking advantage
of the opportunity WinWholesale has to offer. Locally, each company offers on-the-job training. The training
begins in the warehouse and continues through outside sales.
Additionally, area coordinators assist with training by offering
ongoing training for the presidents and their key employees.
Comprehensive training sessions covering everything from accounting
to sales are offered. The regional Dapsco Companies, as part
of the business services it provides, plan and present training
on topics covering basic computer skills, in-depth software
training, using financial statements, understanding audits,
marketing, sales, and many other topics. The bottom line is
that you can decide the level of training you want, and we
